Grand Central has transitioned its operations after 17 years under owner Brian Vasile, who sold the food and beverage portion of the Adams Morgan landmark. While the restaurant and bar business changed hands, Vasile retained ownership of the onsite sportsbook operation.
D.C.’s First Sportsbook Expands to H Street With Pastries in Tow
Grand Central has expanded its D.C. presence with a second sportsbook and cafe location on H Street NE, featuring betting kiosks and an on-site ticket window. The venue includes a kiosk from the local Black-owned Tissy Sweets Bakery and offers a selection of grab-and-go snacks and Boar’s Head products. This independently operated establishment holds a 'Class B' sportsbook license, allowing for immediate on-site redemption of ticket winnings.
