Shadow Room is the latest high end lounge specializing in table service, is aiming to be the swankiest. It's brought to us by the Absolute Addiction group that has been throwing some of the best events at upscale clubs. We attended a press event back in April, am now just getting around to writing about the place. I lost my notebook so I'll try to remember some what I saw.

The one thing that sticks with me is a quote from CEO Das, "We are in the business of selling vanity.". So if that's your bag, this is the place for you.

Here are just some of the amenities:

-Personal dedicated waitress for your table
-Computer screens at every table
-Request songs to DJ from computer at table
-Order specialized drinks from computer at table, down to the ingredient, choose from multiple brands of liquor
-Upload photo albums in advanced and have a slideshow at your table
-Order valet service from your table
-Order XBox at your table
-Plans for space-age holographic drink ordering at bars (ala Minority Report)

Shadow Room is only open Fridays and Saturdays. You need to check out your website if any of this interests you:

This place is horrible. The crowd is weird and music was a mess.

Don't understand what the previous posts were about but I went this past saturday for a friends birthday party and had a blast! I guess Josh and Luis did not get in!

This place seems to be confused as to what its target clientele is. In regards to the music, the DJ seems to want to please everyone by playing a little bit of EVERY genre and ends up pleasing no one. It also did not strike me as an exclusive venue at all. There were several patrons wearing flip-flops and khakis. It seems that Shadow Room is eager to please everyone and anyone and has bypased exclusivity for fear having a slow night.

Not too impressed with the layout or feel of the club. It lacks a vibe and the music is a mess. As for Dini, you have to understand that other then Urban (Black) nights or House nights in DC, every club is going to play a mix of everything. I have no problem with a mix of hip hop, 80s, rock etc, but the DJ needs to know how to read the crowd and feed them good music. The past 2 times I went, the DJ's were not doing a good job. This venue will probably continue to be somewhat packed for a bit, but with so many new venues opening up they better start thinking of ways to create a vibe.

I have to say I attended this place last Saturday and the music was just awful. It was all over the place.

Their DJs should first learn to match beats and then maybe move onto song selection. Yeesh.
